Life & English: “Tooth fairy letter”

Tóm tắt:

(ICTPress) - Whenever I get a tooth out I put it under my pillow. When I am sleeping, tooth fairy comes and picks it up. She grants me a coin of two dollar for the tooth.

(ICTPress) - Hello my name is Van. I am studying at Nedlands Primary school, Perth, Australia. Here is my story.

Whenever I get a tooth out I put it under my pillow. When I am sleeping, tooth fairy comes and picks it up. She grants me a coin of two dollar for the tooth.

Last week, I got a broken tooth so I put that under pillow and got a coin. Then I went to see dentist. He helps me to get the root of the broken tooth out. I put that broken root under my pillow with a letter for tooth fairy.

The letter wrote: Dear tooth fairy, here is the half of last tooth you got from me. Next morning, I got a coin of one dollar from tooth fairy. Mum said that is for my honesty.

Life & English: “A rainy day”

Tóm tắt:

(ICTPress) - Hope next year, the day we begin a new school year, the weather will be fine.

On the fifth of September, the day we began a new school year, it was different from every year. Every year, on this day, the weather was always beautiful, but this year it was an awful day. It was rain.

We stood in the corridor, in front of the class’s door, so we couldn’t see some music sections and it was hard to see or hear our principal talking on the stage about our school’s activities last year. We stood on the corridor for an hour. We was cold. The corridor was wet. The rain was too heavy so we couldn’t see anything. What was an awful day!

I hope next year, the day we begin a new school year, the weather will be fine.

Life & English: “Wall newspaper of Teacher’s day”

Tóm tắt:

(ICTPress) - When we did our wall-newspaper for Teacher’s Day, it was a great time.

Our school’s wall-newspaper was the result from many people. When we did our wall-newspaper for Teacher’s Day, it was a great time.

We had to spend 2 weeks to finish it. First of all, we had to check out the content. I was the one who check and then fix mistakes of others. Secondly, we decorated the heading. It was very hard because we had to draw and edit many times to make it perfect. Then we drew again by color. Drawing by color was very important, so we did it carefully. When the heading was done, we continued to decorate the ending.

Bang Lang was the one who was responsible for doing it. She drew a lots of flowers. They looked so beautiful. At the final day, before tranfering it to school, I and Nhi wrote 53 wishes for teachers and put them into 2 envelopes. The red envelope was writen “give to woman teachers” and the blue envelope was writen “give to men teachers”. Finally, we sticked all of them to the wall-newspaper.

Now, look back the past days, I feel very happy. We didn’t do it for a prize, we did it to express our love and respect to our teacher whom we consider as our second mom and dad. We really want to thank teachers for caring us.

Life & English: “Vietnamese cuisine and five fundamental taste elements”

Tóm tắt:

Vietnamese cuisine encompasses the foods and beverages of Vietnam, and features a combination of five fundamental taste elements in the overall meal.

Vietnamese cuisine encompasses the foods and beverages of Vietnam, and features a combination of five fundamental taste elements in the overall meal.

Each Vietnamese dish has a distinctive flavor which reflects one or more of these elements. Known for its balance of five elements, many Vietnamese dishes include five fundamental taste senses: spicy (metal), sour (wood), bitter (fire), salty (water) and sweet (earth), corresponding to five organs : gall bladder, small intestine, large intestine, stomach, and urinary bladder.

Vietnamese dishes also include five types of nutrients: powder, water or liquid, mineral elements, protein and fat. Vietnamese cooks try to have five colours: white (metal), green (wood), yellow (earth), red (fire) and black (water) in their dishes.

Dishes in Vietnam appeal to gastronomes via five senses: food arrangement attracts eyes, sounds come from crisp ingredients, five spices are detected on the tongue, aromatic ingredients coming mainly from herbs stimulate the nose, and some meals, especially finger food, can be perceived by touching. Common ingredients include fish sauce, shrimp paste, soy sauce, rice, fresh herbs, and fruits and vegetables. Vietnamese cooks use ginger, mint, lemon, coriander, cinnamon, chilli, lime, basil leaves…

Traditional Vietnamese cooking is greatly admired for its fresh ingredients, minimal use of oil, and reliance on herbs and vegetables. With the balance between fresh herbs and meats and a selective use of spices to reach a fine taste, Vietnamese food is considered one of the healthiest cuisines worldwide.

Life & English: “British English and American English”

Tóm tắt:

(ICTPress) - The things I tell are parts of the differences between American English and British English. However, they are all speak a same language: English.

I am surprised when I learn about the differences between British English and American English. There are many differences in vocabulary. For example, the word “subway” that American people call is “underground” in British English. “Apartment” in American English is called “flat” by British people. There are many examples like: truck (A.E) - lorry (B.E); gum (A.E) - glue (B.E); vacation (A.E) - holiday (B.E); ….

The differences are in spelling, too. For instance, the words “center, color, burned, dialog” were spelled “centre, colour, burnt, dialogue”.

When I listen to an American person, I think it is clearer than a British person. At school, we learn American English more than British English. But everybody knows British English is tighter than American English.

The things I tell are parts of the differences between American English and British English. However, they are all speak a same language: English.

Life & English: “Health”

Tóm tắt:

(ICTPress) - This is a proveb about health “health is gold’’ and a maxim about health “If you have health you will wish everything, when you don’ t have health you will wish one thing is health”.

Do you know that eating many food makes you fat? After you get fat your will be very lazy. You should eat heathy food because it will make you strong and slender. But eating food is not enough, you should have plan to practice. How to eat heathy food?

That is what I want to share . If you think that meat, chesse are unhealthy food so you are wrong. Meat makes you have more protein, protein makes muscles stronger and  you will have more energy. Chesse has much more canxi than milk . It makes you taller. Besides eating  food, you should practice too, you can run, swim, play soccer and other sports that you like. But you should have a plan to practice. If you practice so much, you will be very tired and you can be hurt and you will never want to practice  again, but if you practice inattentively, it is not enough to help you to be slender. Do you think health is very important, it is really important to your life. This is a proveb about health “health is gold’’ and a maxim about health “if you have health you will wish everything, when you don’ t have health you will wish one thing is health”.

Now,you need to eat healthy food, and have a plan to practice balancely.

All for your health!
