VNNIC and KISA sign MoU

On February 11th 2015, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) and Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) took place at the office of Ministry of Information & Communications (MIC) in Hanoi.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Le Nam Thang, Deputy Minister of MIC, together with the representatives of other MIC departments.

Since its establishment in 2000, VNNIC and the predecessor organizations of KISA, such as KRNIC and NIDA had executed many practical cooperation activities, including an cooperation agreement signed between VNNIC and KRNIC in 2002 which led to the support for management policies and consultancy of VNNIC’s technical system for Internet resource management, as well as the mutual support of both organizations at international fora and activities.

According to Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, VNNIC’s Director General, the two organizations will base on this MoU to execute a detailed cooperation plan in the management fields of both, such as strengthening the mutual collaboration and discussion on the resource management policies in two countries and in the region, supporting the promotion of IPv6 deployment, developing IDN and IDN email, providing Internet statistics, developing human resources...

Mr. Le Nam Thang, Deputy Minister of MIC, congratulated VNNIC and KISA on the signing of the MoU and expressed his expectation that the organizations will carry on the cooperation plan sufficiently and efficiently.

“In recent years, the Internet has expanded incredibly with such an impressive pace in the region, and contributed greatly to the social and economic development of Vietnam. This also poses many challenges to the management authority of Internet in general, and Internet resources in particular, among which are the IPv4 deployment and IPv6 promotion, IDN development, and information security. We hope that VNNIC, together with other Departments of MIC, will implement the cooperation plan with KISA, with significant achievements", said Mr. Thang.
