Life & English: “European Film Festival”

Fourteen European cultural institutes and embassies show current movies from their countries. Screenings: 16 – 31 May 2014 at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city and Danang.

For two weeks, the cinemas of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang show movies from fourteen European countries. This year‘s event is opened by the British Council with their movie “How I live now” in Hanoi on 16 May. The fictitious drama is based on the novel of the same name by Meg Rosoff and is about Daisy, a 15-year-old American girl that is sent to her relatives in England. There, she has a great summer and falls in love with her eldest cousin Eddie who is as introverted and strong-willed as her.  The German entry is “Oh Boy” by Jan-Ole Gerster.

On the following days, the films of the other participating countries are screened.
