Very young authors of Life & English

(ICTPress) - After three months of launching Life & English - a new section of ICTPress, ICTPress and Wider World Language Center (http://widerworld.vn) organized the meeting with the very young authors having writings for the section on August 8, 2013.

The authors are very young students from third to ninth grades around 9 to 15 years old. However, the very young authors have shown their interesting ideas and point of view about life through their writings that make us paying much attention.

The author, Duong Minh Khanh, a seventh-grade student has written about her future job as following: “Now, I’m telling you about my dream. When I was six, I wanted to be a famous chef. When I was eight, I wanted to be an English teacher but now I want to be a lawyer. I want to be a lawyer because I love justice and I want to protect innocent people”.

The author, Nguyen Thanh Mai, an eighth-grade student wrote her predictions for the year 2099 that “The Earth will get cooler. People will grow trees on the streets so it will be cool in summer. The forests will be grown again in many countries. There will be a lot of beautiful and clean rivers, lakes.”

The young authors for "Life & English" section

The writers are small students so they writes as natural as their age and the way they feel.

The editors for their writings are foreign teachers of Wider World Language Center such as Daniel McIntyre, Igor Mandic, Maria Aili and Ms Dao Thuy have highly evaluated their writings, especially the ideas for writing. Then the writing skills can be practiced step by step.

The author, Pham Minh Huyen, the sixth-grade wrote “True love comes from the heart, and only blood from the heart of a true love can create a endless blue rose. It will make a miracle...” when she told story “The legend of blue roses”.

The author, Hoang Quoc Minh, an eighth-grade student shared his thought of life thatNever shut yourself in a shell, let’s contribute to life and grow”.

The parents, students and organizers exchanged view on writing English and studying opportunities

On this occasion, ICTPress has presented gifts to the young writers and English teachers - editors for their great contributions to “Life & English” section and awarded the author, Duong Minh Khanh a certificate of merit for her many and excellent writings.

At this meeting, the authors presented about their hobbies, wishes, studying and interests lively.

In this meeting, Ms Trinh Thanh Khue, a mother has two children receiving scholarships to study in US, has shared her experience for preparing luggage such as English and skills for her children to look for abroad scholarships. Khue said the young students should have social, communication, work-team skills and self-confident as much as possible because the life and abroad universities are highly evaluated those skills, sometimes higher than academic marks at school.
